Muscle Relaxant Drugs
You may experience sudden contract of muscle and temporary discomfort, this is called muscle spasm. Muscle spasm cause sudden involuntary muscle contraction for a period of time causing acute to severe pain. The muscle quickly and strongly become tightens and hard lump is formed. It is very painful for a person to be with severe muscle spasm. Muscle spasm can be caused by injury, overtired muscles, heavy exercise, dehydration, kidney failure, diabetes or while pregnancy. Muscle spasm often come and goes quickly but when it remains for longer duration of time then you need to go for muscle relaxant medications. Muscle relaxant medicines are used to prevent and reduce muscle spasms. They work by causing the muscles to become less stiff that finally reduce pain and discomfort. They are also prescribed for multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, neurone diseases and long term injury of head or neck. Medications such as Maxalt, Tramjet, Tramacip, Ultram, Librium, Pro soma, Pain-O-Soma, Lioresal, Paraflex, Skelaxin, Soma, Zanaflex, Toradol and Ultracet are used in the treatment of muscle spasm.
